meet our founder
Bianca N. Hicks earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University. Bianca is currently working to become a Doctor of Education and is in her fourth year in the Ed.D. program at Ball State University.
Bianca serves as the Chief Ministry Officer at The Remedy Church in Akron, OH where she cultivates the culture and develops leaders and team members as part of The Remedy Experience Team comprised of 160+ volunteers. Bianca previously served as the Director of Residence Life at Walsh University in North Canton, OH from 2019-2023 where she was promoted from the Assistant Director position held from 2017-2019. Previously, Bianca served in Residence Life Professional Staff positions at The University of Akron in Akron, OH and Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Bianca is a Past President of Northeast Ohio Housing Officers (NEOHO) and is the Vice Chair of Membership Engagement for ACPA International’s Commission for Housing and Residence Life.
Bianca has served in leadership roles for the Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop (YEPAW) for over a decade and helps youth in the greater Akron Community to pursue the D.R.E.A.M.M.
Bianca’s favorite things to do are laugh, love, and eat! If you share space with her, you can guarantee to experience at least two of the three.
Bianca is the Accareability Coach and is the Founder of The Accareability Resource Center, LCC. Bianca coined the term “Accareability” in seeing the need for care-centered accountability as the most effective and sustainable approach when leading others. Bianca does not consider herself an expert, simply someone committed to pursuing excellence in growth and leadership. Join Bianca in the journey and pursue excellence together.
MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
Presenting this information to the world is one of the greatest acts of care I can perform as it is deeply vulnerable; it is much safer to simply use it within my team and continue in my typical day-to-day living. However, I dare to believe that care-centered accountability can transform the world we live in. I’ve been gifted with a productive restlessness to help resolve some of our society’s greatest challenges.
Accareability is my beloved brainchild, gifted from God, inspired by my lived experiences and I’ve witnessed it have such an incredible impact throughout my journey thus far. I recognize accountability in general is not an attractive topic, but it’s an essential component of effective leadership. I hold myself accountable to carry well the weight of the responsibility to lead the mission with integrity. I don’t consider myself an expert; I am simply committed to learning, applying, growing, and guiding. I trust that you’ll courageously partner with me and contribute to the transformation.
